NOTICE OF RACE
RULESThe regatta shall be governed by The Racing Rules of Sailing 2009-2012; the prescriptions of US SAILING; the class rules of the Hobie Class Association - North America (HCANA), and the SBYC/HCANA Sailing Instructions. CLASS Any multi-hull catamaran boat complying with International Hobie Class Association 2009 – 2012 Class Rules. ELIGIBILITY AND ENTRY * The event is a bring-your-own-boat regatta open to all participants and any catamaran boat complying with International Hobie Class Association 2009 – 2012. * Any fleets of less than 5 boats may be combined into a single Portsmouth Yardstick raced fleet. * Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $100,000 per event or the equivalent thereof. Proof of liability insurance must be provided at the time of registration1. ENTRY and FEES – Entry shall be made by completing the entry form available on site at SBYC, and paying the entry fee of $65 for a double handed boat, and $45 for a single handed boat (payable to Hobie Fleet 267). Registrants can save $10 off their fee total by Pre-Registering. To do this, download, print out, complete and mail the registration form www.sbyc.us/2010_reg_form.pdf to Hobie Regatta, c/o Peter Vehslage, 8 Sturbridge Dr. Sicklerville, NJ. 08081. Checks must be made payable to Hobie Fleet 267. Early registrants must still bring a copy of their liability insurance to the regatta and present it to the registrar prior to the skippers meeting on the morning of the 13th. Checks must be received no later than August 1st to qualify for the discount. Registration fees include lunches for both days and a Sunday breakfast. The skipper of each boat shall be charged a $5.00 surcharge if not a North American Hobie Cat Association (“NAHCA”) member, and a separate $5.00 surcharge if not a US Sailing individual or family member. |

SAILING INSTRUCTIONS – The sailing Instructions shall be available at registration and may be posted on the SBYC web site at www.sbyc.us/SBYC_2010_SI.pdf. MEASUREMENT – All boats may be inspected throughout the event for class rule compliance. SCORING – The Low-Point Scoring System, Appendix A of the racing rules, shall apply. FURTHER INFORMATION - Contact Peter Vehslage, Regatta Chairman via email at p.vehslage@gmail.com, or by phone at 856-534-0180. RACE RESULTS will be posted online shortly after the regatta at www.sbyc.us/results.htm. LOCATION – Spray Beach Yacht Club, 23rd and Bay Blvd, Long Beach Island, New Jersey. Exit 63 on Garden State Parkway, NJ Route 72 East till end (on Long Beach Island Bay Blvd), right turn, 6 miles to 23rd street in Spray Beach, NJ, on right. PARKING – Those attendees coming to the club in RV’s should park their rigs at the south end of the club grounds. Boats and trailers will be staged at the north end of the club. 1. Proof of insurance can be obtained from your liability company with a separate statement of binding coverage usually at no additional cost to you. You must provide a copy prior to the skippers meeting on June 13th. |
